At-Tali’a News – Amman
Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Dr. Imad Hijazeen highlighted a new direction for tourism. In fact, Jordan MMA Week is a key step forward for the Kingdom. Moreover, it will help Jordan reach new global markets.
According to the minister, the remarks were made at the Fairmont Amman Hotel. Specifically, this was during the launch of DF UNCAGED. In addition, the conference began with a minute of silence.
Currently, the championship will be held at the Roman Theatre. However, its events will also extend beyond Amman. For example, activities are planned at the Dead Sea and the Citadel.
Therefore, this approach links sports with heritage. In other words, it combines athletic events with cultural attractions. As a result, it will enrich the visitor experience significantly.
Furthermore, the strategy aims to encourage longer stays. Consequently, it will generate wider benefits for the sector. Similarly, it will support local communities.
Indeed, the event is an initiative of the Ministry of Tourism. Also, it is supported by the Jordan Tourism Board. Together, they seek to diversify the tourism product. Thus, they will strengthen Jordan’s place on the world sports map.
Meanwhile, the press conference hosted top international figures. For instance, renowned coach Javier Mendez attended. In fact, he praised the organization level. Moreover, he commended Jordanian hospitality.
Finally, the program will continue this week. First, open training will be held at the Dead Sea on October 28. Second, the official weigh-in will take place at the Citadel on October 29. Third, the main fights will culminate at the Roman Theatre on October 30. Ultimately, the event merges global sport with Jordan’s identity.
